I've recently bought a macbook pro and decided to install windows on it using the bootcamp feature. After that, I found out about vmware fusion and decided to give it a try. I followed vmware fusion instructions to set up the virtual machines from my bootcamp partition. I thought windows was working perfectly until I noticed that I couldn't update windows. I'm getting an error saying that 'windows can't be updated because it appears like the service isn't running. A reboot might solve the problem yada yada...' I didn't know what was causing the error so I decided to boot my MBP from the bootcamp partition and load windows before mac os. Weirdly enough, windows updated without problems when I booted directly into windows.

There were a few updates left so I decided to boot from MAC os again and give it a second try, you never know when the magic software will happen. Unfortunately, I was getting then same error when running the bootcamp partition through vmware fusion. It is obvious it has something to do with vmware fusion. I might be configuring something wrong. Feels to me like vmware fusion doesn't have full control over my bootcamp partition and can't load essential windows services.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to be able to use windows inside MAC os and still get the updates w.o having to boot my MBP directly into windows.

1. Reset the PRAM / NVRAM
